To a friend..

I found this on another blog and wanted to share. My friend (best friend, since 1st grade) lives in another state now, but we are closer than sisters! We are the type of friends that can talk in code, and know what the other is thinking before the other one says it!! We usually have 3 or more topics of conversation we are discussing ALL at the same time, without getting confused. lol :) Other than relatives she's the only one that's known me for this many years...

Seahorses

Today Maddie and I played with my Create a Critter cartridge... "We" decided to make A seahorse. Well, before we knew it we had made FOUR seahorses. lol Of course she needed a green one... then she needed a pink on to be the green one's friend. I picked Orange for my Aunt who loves orange and seahorses! Here are some pics. I added some stickles just for fun.

If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all!

I just want to say THANK YOU for all of my POSITIVE comments and feed back! :) I really appreciate knowing you like my "work". :) I started this blog as a way to show my friends and fellow crafters what I've done. It's also a note to myself of what I used and how I did it. A way of watching my styles and techniques grow.

If you don't like my work, oh-well. Don't look, don't comment, just move on! Ever heard the saying "If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all" good advice to live by... I didn't start this blog for someone to say they don't like something I make and criticize or "bash" me because of it. I realize you have the right to your opinions, just please keep them off my page. We all have different opinions, different styles, and different ways of doing things. I do NOT need your NEGATIVITY!!

P365 #3

**Just to reiterate (and apparently clear things up), Project 365 is to take (at least) one photo each day of the year. It does NOT mean you have to MAKE a project, nor does Project 365 mean that I am making projects/giving ideas of projects for you to make... Again, if you don't like my work, PLEASE move on! Thanks**

OK, ok, I know I'm horrible with this project! I really like the idea, I do. I am just too lazy! LOL There is also not much usually going on around here to photograph. Here are the newest photos of P365. :)
Thanks for looking :)

A few layouts

Once again I'm scrapbooking pics from a couple years ago (2008). I am almost caught up until the 3 year pics and after! Here are 4 new layouts and one of my favorite layouts from that book. Sorry about some of the pics, I'm still not sure how to take good pics of layouts! lol

I can't believe how young she looks! :(

She loved bubble baths and still does!

This is one of my favorite layouts from 2008. This heart is possibly from George, I'm not sure. I did this a while ago.

This pic is actually from when she was 3 years old

Another angle of the same layout

This is from THIS YEAR!! I can hardly believe it either! LOL IF I were only this on the ball with all years... hahaha (Winter Frolic)

Sweet Memories LO

Over in my Cricut group on Cafemom.com I was challenged to cut anything with a heart, BUT the heart had to be turquoise. (I didn't have the darker turquoise I wanted so this light turquoise/teal was "good enough") Here is a scrapbook page of a day Maddie & Daddy made some muffins. They HAD to have sprinkles on them, too! It's a pretty simple layout with a die cut tag, "muffin", and the title, I also tore the paper into 2 strips then layered them, and matted the main photo. I'm going to journal on the blank teal tag...
The "muffin" was from Create a Critter, the hearts were from Doodle Charms, and the saying was from Winter Frolic... The tag was from Doodle Charms, I think....

P365 post 2

As you all probably know I am doing project 365. I have a couple problems with this.... 1.) I forget to get the camera out at all, or 2.) I have a hard time picking which picture to use as the daily photo. Not huge problems and it's nice to have lots of variety of pictures!
 Here is Jan. 8th
I missed the 9th

Jan. 10th- it started snowing and Ming-Ming needed bundled up, too! :)

Jan. 11, 2011 Playing in the snow-- only for a few minutes! Look how deep it is!! (To her knees, she could barely walk)

Thank You Card challenge

Over at Cafemom.com in my Cricut group, I was challenged to make a monochromatic Thank You card. I chose pink as my color choice (duh lol), cut a few pink flowers and a ladybug from my Create a Critter cartridge, I also cut 3 (of the same) Thank You sentiments, but I can't remember what cart that was from. I inked a few of the cuts for contrast and "illegally" added green to the leafs, thought pink leafs were too weird! haha I also used the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folder on a few of the flowers and the biggest Thank You cut. I added a piece patterned paper, a thin ribbon attached with brads and that was pretty much it. Here are a couple pics.

Project 365

Ok, I have decided to do Project 356... I can't wait to see my year in pictures, IF it works out right. I've already missed a few days, but oh well. Better to miss a few days than a few months! haha
You will be seeing LOTS of Maddie pics, after all she is who I am around 90% of the time with my camera!
I'm going to post one pic from each day, up through today.... enjoy....
Jan 1, 2011 nice quiet evening at home.

Jan. 2, 2011, talked hubby into scraping.

I missed the 3rd and 4th .. :(

 SUPER MADDIE 1/5/11

My 'haul' from HL 1/6/11 used my gift card.

Not crazy about this pic of Maddie, but they wanted to be goofy. Kaylinn was over to play with Maddie- 1/7/11 Layndon came, too, but wasn't here when we were takin' pics.

I'll add more pics as the year goes by! :)

Diapers don't cost 12k ....just sayin'

OH, MY GOSH!! I just read this article on Cafemom.com's the stir about IVF & IUI cost ( article ). The author of the article makes very valid points. Some of the comments on there were jaw dropping! For instance, "If you are low income you have no business having us pay for your fertility treatments. having a kid is a privilege, not a right." billsfan1104, and another from  angevil53 , "what's next? i need to make sure they have a car to get to their appointments too? and a nice luxury car at that i'll bet! having a child isn't a NEED, it's a want." Yes, because couples with fertility issues are asking YOU to buy them a CAR, a LUXURY car at that. No one said you should pay for the IVF. The article was simply saying the cost should be lower for more couples to be able to afford. Here is another one, "Cry me a river. If people can't pay a few thousand bucks to get pregnant, where is the money going to come from when Baby needs to be fed, clothed, educated, etc.? Need I even ask? IVF and alternative ways of getting pregnant are a luxury. There are cheaper adoption options. Consider them. Your genes aren't all that, hello," from Anon. OH, and BTW Anon., Adoption ISN'T Cheaper!

IVF costs upwards of $12,000 and the "cheaper" IUI can cost $1300+. No, insurance usually does not pay for these procedures. IF you are lucky the insurance may cover a TINY amount, but it is minimal. The procedures have been around for 30 or more years, and is FOUR times more expensive in the U.S. than other countries.

In my opinion having a baby IS a right, it a basic human function. For those who have never experienced the heartache, pain, longing, feelings of worthlessness, etc., you really have no right commenting at all. You have NO IDEA how it feels. Just because you can LOOK at a guy a get pregnant does not make you "better" than me. (To those who agree with Billsfan.)

What if I said you have blue eyes, therefore you may not have a baby, live in "this house", or buy this product? That is not fair. So how is saying, "sorry your reproductive organs do not work correctly, therefore you can't have a baby" fair? It's not. How is it fair that I can't have a baby but yet there are thousands of teen moms who aren't ready? There are thousands of "young" moms that have multiple children that can't take care of them, or doesn't even know HOW to properly care for them. How is it fair that right down the road somewhere there is a mom with more than one kid, not providing for those kids, and the kids are barely healthy or rarely have clean diapers?! IF I could have a baby, my baby WOULD be well cared for and taken care of, without diaper rash! I can't afford IVF, but I can afford diapers. Diapers don't cost 12k for one use, that MIGHT work.... just sayin'. Am I harsh? Probably. Am I judgmental? More than likely. Am I bitter? You bet. Am I hurt? Absolutely!

Saying that if you can't afford IVF you can't afford/ don't need or deserve a baby is ridiculous. You do not have to pay $12,000 in one minute for a baby. Just because I do not have that much money laying around does not mean I wouldn't make/ am not a good mom. I can afford diapers, formula, clothes, and anything else a baby would need or want.

I do understand a portion of the thinking. More IVF's = more babies, which may mean more people needing assistance such as food stamps. I do not feel like people living off the government, not even trying to provide for themselves, should use/have the IVF option. For those of us who provide food, shelter, clothing, etc for ourselves and children, but can't afford $12k should be able to have assistance in attaining our dream. Or at least a little better chance of reaching it. Why should we, who abide by the laws, live on our own, & provide for ourselves not be able to have a baby?

At least some people get it... "It's so sad to think that the option is there but unattainable to have children  when you cant do it with out help :( ",momof030404.

Pumpkin Carving Oct 2010

My husband helped me make this page! :) He hates scrapbooking, but said he would do it with me today because I'd been sick. lol He said "ONLY 1 page!" hehehehe :) I really like the way it turned out. We didn't really have a plan when we started either... AGAIN it is from a few months ago. I just scrap what I want when the mood hits. I don't try to push myself to do a page right after the event happened.. Probably should, then I wouldn't be SOOO behind! haha  This is not the greatest pic, but you get the idea! :)
